Dr. Beam offers facelift surgery for patients in Glastonbury, Hartford, New Britain, New Haven and surrounding areas of Connecticut.
Your face can say a lot about who you are and how you feel. Environmental factors such as the sun, wind and pollution can take a toll on your face, making it look dull, wrinkled or older than you are. Dr. Beam offers facelift surgery to dramatically improve the appearance of wrinkles, creases, fat deposits, sagging skin and many other signs of aging. To give you the most natural looking results, Dr. Beam uses the most advanced face lift techniques.
Before Facelift Surgery
Prior to your surgery, you will have a private discussion with Dr. Beam to decide if facelift surgery can help you achieve your cosmetic goals. By looking at your unique bone structure and the condition of your skin, we can help determine the best treatment option for you. Dr. Beam may also recommend other options for surgery such as a neck lift, brow lift or chin augmentation.
How is a Facelift Performed?
Facelift1
The results that you would like to see from your face lift will determine the facelift methods Dr. Beam uses for your procedure. For a typical procedure, Dr. Beam will begin by making an incision behind the hairline at the temples. After removing the skin from the underlying tissue, he can remove and evenly distribute fat, as well as tighten the muscles to overall improve the contours of your face. The skin can then be repositioned to reduce sagging, age lines and remove excess skin. Finally, the incisions are closed and bandages are carefully placed.
What Can I Expect After Facelift Surgery?
Many patients may experience swelling and bruising after surgery, however these should soon subside to reveal your beautiful results. We will also prescribe pain medication to help alleviate any discomfort you may be feeling. It is recommended that you keep your head elevated for a few days to minimize swelling. You will also be asked to avoid vigorous activities for at least two weeks following facelift surgery.
How Much Does a Facelift Cost?
The cost for facelift surgery depends on the severity of the case. Dr. Beam and his staff can discuss all pricing and financing options with you at your initial consultation.

Facelift FAQs
While there is no perfect age to get a facelift, we most often see patients ages 45 to 60 interested in receiving the procedure. That being said, good candidates for a facelift are 35 to 75 years old, in good general health, and have realistic expectations of their desired results. If you believe you’re a good candidate for a facelift, we encourage you to come in for a private consultation with Dr. Beam.
Our patients generally find they look an average of about 10 years younger following their facelifts. This is because the facelift gives a subtle but noticeable lift to the face’s natural features, giving them the refreshed and rejuvenated look they desire.
Yes! A facelift is perfect for addressing:
- Fine lines and deep wrinkles around the cheeks, nose, mouth, and chin.
- Loose or sagging skin around the lower face.
- Jowling along the jawline.
No, the facelift is not a painful procedure. Following your facelift, you may experience swelling, tenderness, and bruising around your treated areas. This is normal and side effects typically resolve on their own within a week or two of treatment. Dr. Beam and his expert medical team will provide you with post-operative care instructions to help make your facelift recovery period as comfortable as possible.
